The Mount Vernon Rescue is a Volunteer Emergency First Aid Unit within the Mount Vernon Fire Department and reporting to the Fire Chief.Members of the Unit shall respond to emergencies arising from the illness of, or injury to, persons within the Town. The Unit may respond to emergencies in other towns with which the Selectmen, on behalf of the Town, have entered into mutual aid agreements. The members responding shall take steps to stabilize the patient until arrival of an ambulance. One or more of the members responding may accompany the patient to the hospital if necessary. |
