A lost 3-year-old boy was found safe late Sunday afternoon, Aug. 1, after a three-hour multi-agency search.
The Vienna Fire Department put out a call at 2 p.m. Sunday that Benjamin Lehr, 3, was missing. The youth,
who reportedly had last been seen around noon, was wearing camouflage pajamas and no shoes.
The Maine State Police responded with a K9 team and the Warden Service responded with an aircraft.
Lakes Region Mutual Aide sent assistance from Fayette, Manchester, Mt. Vernon, Readfield, Vienna,
Wayne and Winthrop.
The warden pilot reportedly spotted Lehr at 4:47 p.m. in a field on Vienna Mountain. A Manchester
off-road vehicle, accompanied by a Maine State Police Officer, sheriff's deputies and several volunteers
transported Lehr off the hill.
The boy was reportedly was tired, thirsty and had lost his pajamas during the ordeal.
