Message to Community and Friends

About us

The Fire Department is managed and operated by its own volunteer members and most of its fiscal support is provided by the town. The department's volunteer members, donations from the community and friends, and its membership in the Lake Region Mutual Aid Company allows us to provide a level of fire and rescue protection that greatly exceeds its cost in tax dollars.

Our Thanks to the Town

We are grateful to the Town of Mt. Vernon's elected Selectmen for their support. We also would like to thank the voters and tax payers of the town for their support over the years.

Thanks to our Supporters

The Department is fortunate to have had many supporters over the years, some of whom are summer residents and friends just visiting our town. They attend the functions that help support us and are generous with their donations.

Thanks to our Families

We are truly thankful to the families of our Firefighters for all the time the Firefighters give up with their families when doing the Department's work. We know that this is especially hard for young families and special thanks go out to them.

Community Service

The Fire Department provides services to the community, other then its primary function of fire protection and rescue service.

Junior Fire Starters (a confidential program to help problem kids)
